Heather is an amazing dog trainer! We brought our high-energy Miniature Pinscher puppy, Jax, to her when he was 6mo old. Jax had issues with obedience, leash walking, and potty training. We did the 4-week board and train, and also provided private lessons after. She is knowledgeable, tailoring her training techniques based on each dog's background. Heather taught us about dog behavior, the importance of communication, and even gave nutrition advice. We highly recommend Heather at Project K9 for anyone in need of a dog trainer.

MJ is doing great after training with Heather! He behaves much better now. The times he makes mistakes are very small compared to before. During our thirty-minute walks, he pays attention to me and listens well. I've also learned to understand him better. I know how to protect him and stand up for him around other people and their dogs. I used to think he was aggressive, but he's actually just nervous and scared. It's been amazing to learn about what he's really thinking! Training my dog, MJ, has truly changed my life. I can now have people over without MJ submissively peeing on them. I can trust him to listen to me and not go crazy when someone approaches us.

I brought my 3 year old German Shepherd to Heather for aggression issues. My GSD would not allow anyone to approach her, would bark/lunge at kids, and had horrible recall. She had been through a training program but it never really seemed to stick with her.
Heather was able to point out that it was aggression but rather anxiety and lack of self confidence. Heather gave us the tools and vision to help my dog understand that we are in charge, and that she can relax.
Now, kids from the neighborhood can come over without worrying about the crazy dog. Thanks Heather!

From our first meeting, (and for the following 4+ years), I could tell Heather was perfect for us. Heather's house and training areas were always clean and didn't smell. The dogs I saw there were well-behaved and respectful, but they also seemed relaxed and happy around her.
When LeBron finished the program, he changed completely. Heather is fantastic! I continued to use her for daycare and boarding. LeBron got so excited to be there, enjoys socializing, and behaves very well when I pick him up. I have frequently visited Project K9 and utilized Heather's services. I have known Heather Bruley of Project K9 for over four years as her client and her friend at the time of training. I have been to her house countless times, and all the dogs are always well behaved. As the owner of a dog with protective/aggressive issues, I realize how vital Heather’s business is to Utah. Heather has years of experience dog training on a professional basis with multiple national certifications.
My dog was previously nearly uncontrollable (barking, lunging, growling, snapping) on a leash when passing other dogs and people. Because of Heather’s training, I can now walk my dog calmly and in complete control through Home Depot and other places, and have small children approach her without any fear of how she might behave. We have learned to step up for Blu and let him have his space with other dogs, instead of force him to interact with them. We rescued a senior dog through Project K9. She helped train us and him so we were able to correct his bad habits. Now he’s happy and balanced and we have the ability to work with our other rescue dog. We don’t always get to choose the habits our dogs have formed before they join our families but with Heather’s help we can help them get better!

We discovered Heather Hamilton and Project K9 while seeking help for our dog Penny’s difficult behavior. Unlike other trainers, Heather was able to establish leadership with Penny without using treats since she wasn’t food motivated. Impressed with her skills, we continued training with her and even started boarding our dogs with her when we go out of town. Watching Heather during Pack Walks has been a great learning experience as she handles different dogs with calm and effective leadership. Penny’s behavior has significantly improved since working with Heather, and we plan to continue working with her as long as we live in Utah.

Heather, the founder of Project K-9, saved the life of our dog named Penny who had severe anxiety issues. After adopting Penny, who had been mistreated by a puppy mill, she developed aggression towards strangers. Penny even escaped and bit two dogs. Worried about Penny’s future, we reached out to Heather for help. Through a personalized training program, Heather taught both Penny and me how to make better decisions. As a result, Penny’s behavior improved dramatically. With the tools provided by Heather, Penny became a different dog, able to ignore people and other animals. We are so grateful to Heather for saving Penny’s life and we are now able to provide a safe environment for Penny and our toddler. Heather’s intervention also helped in a legal situation, preventing Penny from being euthanized. We have immense admiration and support for Heather and Project K-9.

Our new puppy seemed to face some behavior challenges we could not handle. So I did my research and looked high and low for a E collar class, as it seems that was the training this dog required. Well, Heather taught us to do some amazing things. She gave me the confidence to do this and gave me the tools to do it. It takes effort, everyday I work with my dog. But now she is the most amazing dog I have ever owned. We walk off leash 2 miles everyday. It does not matter if other people or dogs come by my dog could care less. She is focused on me and what I tell her or direct her to do. At the end she gets a really rough game of Frisbee that she loves! I honestly think I am forever sold. I will always train any dog I get. I can not believe all these years I have missed out on this level of communication with my dog. We together are on a whole new level. Thank you Heather! Heather has helped my Australian Shepherd tremendously. In just a few weeks, she has transformed my dog’s behavior. He used to bully my other dog, try to rule the house, and ignore my instructions. Heather is a great trainer. Our German shepherd has come so far since we started taking her. She had reactive/aggression issues and heather gave us all the tools/games/ places to go/ things to do/ how to use an E-collar etc. Her Separation anxiety has tremendously improved. she used to tear up our walls, chew everything in sight and poop all over her self and the kennel. NOT ANYMORE. She is happy to be left alone and loves her “wolf den” (Kennel). Price is a little more than others and she is kind of far from us, but in the end we it was well worth it because now we have a dog who listens to us and loves to go on road trips.
